In house coaching skills training
Businesses are increasingly aware of the enormous value of coaching in driving their commercial effectiveness. An external coach brings professional expertise, years of experience of businesses and challenges just like yours and the impartiality and confidentiality of being outside of your organisation. For your business leaders, these attributes in a coach are key.
Professional coaching is a fabulous investment in key individuals - but there are times when an external coach is not a viable option. If an organisation wishes to create a wider culture of coaching, providing training in basic coaching skills to larger numbers of employees can be effective route.
We are ideally placed to create and deliver a tailored program to develop basic coaching skills across larger numbers of people in your business. We run one of only 2 public coaching training programs in the UK that are recognised by the International Coach Federation.
The result ? People start to adopt a coaching mindset with peers, staff and leaders alike, and the power of coaching is unleashed throughout your organisation.

Purpose and Results
The purpose of in house coaching skills training is to build basic coaching skills across a broad population of your employees, frequently with the aim of building a 'coaching culture' within your business.
The specific results you can expect are:
- attendees gain experience in using basic coaching techniques, and applying them 'in anger' - we go beyond classroom teaching and experiential learning to build in practical exploration, outside the training room, and then follow up to further improve skill levels and notice the learnings
- a culture shift towards coaching based interactions between leaders and staff, whether peers, or in leader / subordinate relationships
- the powerful effects of coaching at work, across a broad spectrum of your organisation
- more people asking if they can take part ! It's a fact!! Coaching is powerful, and once experienced, people want to know how to use it themselves - this is how the culture change catches hold and gains traction.
How it works
The structure of in house coaching training varies. You may wish to start with a specific level in your organisation. You may wish to focus on a specific function, or leadership team.
Whatever the goal, we usually start by creating a pilot program, working closely with you and the leaders involved. We then run the pilot, learn from the experience, and hone the program ready for wider delivery.
All programs involve both 'training room' and 'on the job' activity, often as a sandwich of training - practical exploration - training. Coaching is not a theory to be read and consigned to the bookshelf. It has its effect only when it is delivered, so all attendees will find they spend far more time 'delivering' than reading or listening.
The scope of the training depends on what you wish to achieve, the types of individuals to be trained, and the timeframe you envisage.
