Trebling Profit
Situation
The client is an internal IT function of the UK arm of a major global technology provider. When we started work with them, there were few fully fledged managers amongst them, and nobody who would have been recognisable as a leader. They were on the threshold of taking on significant new responsibilities, and of attempting to grow their piece of the business from £5.8 million to £13.4 million .
Solution
We worked with the management team of this organisation every 4 to 6 months coaching the dynamic of the team, clarifying their ambition and vision, exploring what was holding them back, building on strengths and addressing challenges. We also coached the individuals in the team one on one over this time period to ensure that they were individually prepared for the roles they were required to take on.
As is characteristic of our work, we have 'told it as we see it' consistently throughout our relationship, and this clear feedback has been key in enabling the individuals and the team to make the changes that have led to their success.
Result
Now, two and a half years on, they have almost trebled their profitability. Key players have developed sound management skills, have far greater self-awareness, know how to manage relationships within the team and are on the road to becoming true leaders. For individuals where this was not possible, they have restructured and recruited to create the team needed to support their growing business.
They have grown from a team of 20 to a team of over 100, and have been recognised for their success to such a degree that they are now taking on a pan-european remit.
